Morgan Coulson
she/they.

Hi! I’m Morgan, a Professional Art Therapist and a Registered Psychotherapist. I believe that healing begins in connection, and that expression through the arts facilitates true healing and mental health. I aim to act not as an expert or person with all of the answers, but as a collaborative guide on your personal journey.

I have a special place in my heart for working alongside adolescents, youth, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma. I support people in creating more compassion for themselves, connecting to their feelings and values, and empowering themselves along their healing journeys.

Aside from being a psychotherapist and art therapist, I’m…

▴   a partner and a cat mom
▴   an art maker, sewist, and gardener
▴   an advocate that art is for everyone, and that everyone is inherently creative
▴   libra ☼ gemini ☽ gemini ⌓
▴   a second generation Welsh immigrant, living on the traditional land of the Algonquin peoples
▴   a firm believer in connection as medicine, whether it be to self, other, nature, or intuition
▴   always looking at the world through a political lens
▴   seeking joy and comfort in small things
▴   queer/LGBT+ affirming
▴   disability and chronic illness affirming

Approach

I utilize warmth, collaboration, curiosity, and authenticity. I believe we do not heal in isolation, so I strive to build relationships based on care, commitment, knowledge, responsibility, trust, and respect.

I act not as an expert with all the answers, but as a safe, empathetic guide to remind you of your inherent worth and intuition, and to provide tools and resources to support and empower you.

I work mainly from an anti-oppressive and client-centered framework, and may include aspects of…
▴   attachment theory
▴   trauma-informed teachings
▴   feminist and relational-cultural approaches
▴   mindfulness and somatic techniques
▴   focusing oriented art therapy

I support folks working with…
▴   stress and anxiety
▴   depression and mood disorders
▴   trauma and PTSD
▴   relationship challenges
▴   inner critic, self-worth, and self-compassion

Let’s make something together
